It’s nice that Tyler is picking up our appreciation of the outdoors and nature. One time, after a nice walk outside, I told Tyler that I wish I could be outside more often, because it makes me happy and makes me feel better when I get to have some “outside time”. So now when Tyler thinks I am being a little grumpy he will tell me that I need some outside time. I can’t argue, because it’s true!
Yesterday, when we were taking Porthos for a walk, as we crested the top of the sixth avenue hill, I was looking at Kevin and saying something to him. All of a sudden Ty is pushing on my chest and trying to get me attention. “What, Tyler?” I asked him. He didn’t say anything, just reached up with his hands on either side of my face and turned my head so I was looking at the lake. “Look — at — the lake!” he whispered. I caught my breath — he was right, it was beautiful! Just the way the sun was shining across the lake, with the red and yellow and gold leaves of the fall foliage lit up, it was gorgeous! I am so glad that Ty can stop and appreciate the beauty all around us, and that he reminds us to do it too!
