We gave Tyler his first food from a spoon last night! This new formula is so highly processed that he is just not satisfied by it, he seems to be hunrgy all the time and has been spitting up a lot. So the pediatrician said to go ahead and start giving him rice cereal mixed with formula. The face he made upon his first bite was pretty funny. He wrinkled up his brow, and frowned and hung his mouth open with the food on his tongue and and expression that looked like “what the heck?!? what am I supposed to do with this??” but then he started mashing it around in his mouth and finally swallowed it. We ended up feeding him about a tablespoons worth before stopping and giving him his bottle. We also started adding two teaspoons of rice cereal to his formula to thicken it slightly and hopefully that will help it stay down a little better. (He had been hardly spitting up at all when he was on the Nutramigen).
